🔵⚪CDS Recycling!🔵⚪

It was another great season of recycling at the Mill Park Football Club in 2025!

Our club is a MASSIVE fan of recycling, having recycled over 7,500 containers so far through Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme.

A big shout out to all that put their cans and bottles into the recycling bins but no shout out to those who put rubbish in the bins instead (poor Lauren and those having to sort through that!)

With that in mind, here's a little poem about putting the rubbish in the rubbish bin and not in the recycling bin!

At Mill Park Football Club, on every game-day morn,
Bob and Carol sell potato cakes and chips so freshly warm.
The parents cheer, the sausages sizzle, the crowd begins to roar,
But our poor recycling bins? They're crying by the door!

For into them go sauce-soaked chips and half-eaten sausage rolls,
Sticky food and chip packets tossed like tiny, crinkled scrolls.
Yet all we asked, quite simply was “Please recycle right!”
But every round of footy brings a bin-based little fright!

We love to work with CDS, collecting cans galore.
Each bottle means more money for the club we all adore.
New jumpers, cones and footies, new tackle bags to thump.
But only clean containers make that total really jump.

So hear this message from Lauren and our volunteers so keen:
If it once was food or covered in muck, it doesn’t belong in green!
Put your rubbish in the rubbish, your recyclables in the right spot.
And help our Mill Park juniors raise the funds they need a lot.

Because every can and bottle, clean and neatly tossed inside,
Helps our little football players run out with glowing pride.
So thanks for recycling, for supporting our colours, white and blue.
